Image Processing

ABSTRACT:

Image processing contrasts with computer graphics, which is usually more concerned with the generation of artificial images, and visualisation, which attempts to understand (real-world) data by displaying it as an artificial image (e.g. a graph). Image processing is used in image recognition and computer vision. Image Processing- Manipulation of an image to improve or change some quality of the image. Image processing spans a sequence of three steps. The input step (image capture and digitizing) converts the differences in coloring and shading in the picture into binary values that a computer can process. The processing step can include image enhancement and data compression. The output step consists of the display or printing of the processed image. Image processing is used in such applications as television and film, medicine, satellite weather mapping, machine vision, and computer–based pattern recognition.Silicon Graphics manufacture workstations which are often used for imageprocessing. There are a few programming languages designed for image processing, e.g. CELIP, VPL.This paper contains some of the operations performed by Image Processing and the implemented using the ‘C’  Image practically.
